The average bill for a typical household in England, Scotland and Wales is increasing from £2,500 a year to £3,000 a year.

Other bills are also increasing from April, including water bills, mobile and broadband and council tax.

More Government support is on the way in the coming tax year, with people on certain means-tested benefits to receive a 3900 cost of living payment.

The money will be paid in three instalments of around £300 with the first amount to be paid in Spring 2023.
