Barbara Eden Is 91: Celebrate The ‘I Dream Of Jeannie’ Star’s Birthday With Photos From Her Young Years

Your wish is my command! Barbara Eden, born Barbara Jean Morehead on August 23, 1931, is an American actress, singer, and producer best known for her starring role as Jeannie in the sitcom ‘I Dream of Jeannie’ from 1965-1970.

She got a place in the Actor’s Equity union in her teens and became a semi-regular playerf on ‘The Johnny Carson Show’ in 1955. Other appearances during that time included ‘I Love Lucy’, ‘Perry Mason’, ‘Gunsmoke’, ‘Father Knows Best’, and ‘The Andy Griffith Show. Then in ’65, she became ‘Jeannie’. Her other notable roles include 1960’s ‘Flaming Star’ opposite Elvis Presley, 1961’s ‘Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea’, as well as the film and TV versions of ‘Harper Valley PTA’.
