James Gunn’s ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3’ Gets An Official Synopsis

Marvel has revealed the official synopsis for James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Yesterday, Marvel offered fans a first look at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 ahead of its debut in theaters in May 2023. During a special CCXP presentation in Brazil, Marvel’s Kevin Feige introduced audiences to the first trailer for the next Guardians of the Galaxy movie, which marks the end of the current iteration of team.

With the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 now available on the web, Marvel has also dropped a synopsis for the movie, which reads as follows: “The beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. It’s a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”

James Gunn recently opened up about the emotional production process of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is his final Marvel project for the time being due to his exclusive contract with DC Studios. “Shooting the last-ever scene with all the Guardians for Vol. 3 was emotional for all of us. There were a lot of tears. And it wasn’t just for the characters,” Gunn said at the time.

The recent Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special on Disney Plus saw Drax and Mantis teaming up to kidnap Kevin Bacon so that the celebrity could cheer-up Peter Quill, a.k.a Star-Lord. The special also introduced audiences to Cosmo the Spacedog, a new addition to the Guardians.

Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Will Poulter, Chukwudi Iwuji and Maria Bakalova.
