10 Plots Redditors Want For Quentin Tarantino’s Final Movie

Will he or will he not? In recent years, fans have kept arguing about Quentin Tarantino’s promise to retire after making his tenth movie. Well, it appears this is exactly what will happen as the director recently revealed that he intends to retire while still on top. But it isn’t all sad news as he also hinted that he might go the TV route (via Collider).

Though Tarantino has made it clear that he will indeed leave the movie industry, fan skepticism will continue since directors and actors tend to come out of retirement all the time. But if he did indeed make a final movie as promised, what would be the ideal plot? Redditors have some suggestions.

Vega Brothers

About Tarantino, Ch0colatesyrup comments: “He picks wildly different plots. That said, Vega Brothers.” The idea comes up because one of the most likable Pulp Fiction characters, Vincent Vega, is the brother to Vic Vega from Reservoir Dogs.

It’s not a wild idea since Tarantino thought of making a movie about the Vega brothers called Double V Vega. Not only is the title a cool one but the Vega brothers are also interesting enough to be at the center of a crime thriller. And it would have to be a prequel since Vincent died in the movie. However, there is the risk of the movie being too similar to Pulp Fiction, presumably the reason that Tarantino shelved the idea.

Ryan Gosling In A Video Game Movie

Jimbo2933 has an out-of-the-box idea. They feel the director should make “a video game movie with Ryan Gosling as the lead.”

There are plenty of great video game franchises for Tarantino to pick from. And since most video game movies tend to be poorly received compared to the games themselves, Tarantino would earn himself bonus points as an auteur by changing that trend. The only thing unlikely to happen is the casting of Ryan Gosling since Tarantino has go-to actors that he trusts. As such, fans can expect Brad Pitt or Samuel L. Jackson.

Non-Star Trek Sci-Fi movie

Jdgian13 says they’d “love it if he went wild and did something like a fantasy or a (not Star Trek) sci-fi film.” The director has flirted with the idea of making a Star Trek movie before.

One can see why the Redditor is against a Star Trek movie as that’s already an established franchise whereas Tarantino is known for creating his unique worlds. For that reason, a space opera or earthly adventure with futuristic science concepts would be great.

Kill Bill (Vol 3)

Redditor illhavethatdrinknow says “I’m still holding out hope for Kill Bill Volume 3.” It’s something many other Redditors want too.

Making “Volume 3” might appear challenging since Bill was already killed, but there’s still a plot angle to be explored. It involves Vernetta’s grown daughter seeking revenge on her mother’s killer Beatrix, aka, The Bride. After all, in one of the memorable Kill Bill quotes, The Bride famously told her, “If you still feel raw about….I’ll be waiting.”

Biker Gangs

TravoltaVega5 feels it would be great if Tarantino made “something centered around biker gangs in the mid/late ‘90s.” The idea isn’t too alien either since Tarantino produced the biker movie, Hell Ride.

Sons Of Anarchy proved that biker gangs can be interesting if a story is told correctly. And while there are a couple of recommendable biker gang movies, most aren’t iconic. Hence, by making one, Tarantino has the chance to grow a flower in a field that mostly produces thorns.

A Kids Movie

Phoequinox thinks that Tarantino should make a kids’ movie. They write: “Rodriguez did it, Burton did it, even Scorsese did it. He can do it.”

Even Francis Ford Coppola did it but the chances of Tarantino making a kids’ movie are slim. He obviously must have observed the trends and noticed that the kids’ movies by these popular directors ended up being critically panned. As such, he is unlikely to try. Still, experimentation yields great outcomes at times so Tarantino should consider it.

Gangster Movie Set In The ‘30s

Djhuntau says “that 30s gangster film sounds good to me.” The award-winniug director has vaguely mentioned such an idea before too.

The plot fits into Tarantino’s wheelhouse as it allows him to dive into violence and gore like he generally does. The director hasn’t done a proper mafia movie either, so he has the chance to do that here. Furthermore, he tends to handle period settings quite well.

Kill Bills

Another user comes up with a creative idea. They say he should make “a tense, financial drama about the end of paper money, called… Kill Bills.”

Aside from the cool title that’s a homage to one of Tarantino’s movies, the idea itself is a solid one. The idea of a world without paper money hasn’t been properly explored in cinema, so it would be great if that happened. Furthermore, the tone doesn’t have to be too serious. Tarantino could still stride on the fun route taken in The Wolf Of Wall Street.

A Fantasy Film That Ties Together All His Movies

What if there was a Tarantino-verse? Alekesam1975’s proposal involves a “meta-fantasy that encompasses and acknowledges all or most of his prior works.”

Given how frequently the filmmaker has criticized Marvel movies, it would be nice to see him prove that he can do the whole shared-universe concept much better. With his movies being set in different periods, pulling it off would be challenging, but it would be nice to see him try.

A Noir Detective Thriller

AltRightTearSipper25 hopes for a noir detective thriller. They say that since Tarantino likes to do revisionist stuff, he “could have a lot of fun with the Black Dahlia murder.”

Tarantino has indeed done revisionist history quite well with the Manson Family story and the Nazi one so the Black Dahlia tale is one he can be trusted to handle quite well. The director knows how to create compelling investigators too and Max Cherry is proof of that.
