[ad_1]

The crossbow is a powerful ranged weapon in Dying Light 2 that, along with its bolts, can only be obtained by aligning with the Peacekeepers.

Players who are looking for the best weapons in Dying Light 2 will need to put the crossbow on their radar, as well as the different types of bolts that can be crafted for ammunition. The crossbow is a semi-automatic weapon that can only be earned if players make certain choices involving the Peacekeepers, which will permanently affect their playthroughs. Additionally, players can craft six different types of bolts for Dying Light 2’s crossbow, and the blueprints are only slightly different from one another.

In Dying Light 2, the Peacekeepers are a faction players can choose to join as they continue through the story. By helping the Peacekeepers, players align themselves further and further from the Survivors, those people first met at the Bazaar in Villedor. Both factions are fighting for control of the city throughout the game, and there are unique rewards that players can earn from each faction. Unfortunately, players can only align with one faction, and the only way to get the crossbow in Dying Light 2 is by aligning with the Peacekeepers.

To align with the Peacekeepers, players need to assign control over the Water Tower or Electric Station in the area to that faction. Much like saving the Peacekeeper Aitor in Dying Light 2, assigning the neutral territories to the Peacekeeper control will have a significant impact on how the story unfolds.

Once players give the Peacekeepers control of four Water Towers or Electric Stations, Dying Light 2’s crossbow will automatically be awarded to them along with blueprints for each of the different kinds of bolts. Head to Aiden’s stash in any safe area once the city alignment is at level four with the Peacekeepers to find the weapon.

Why the Crossbow is Dying Light 2’s Best Weapon

The crossbow is the best weapon in Dying Light 2 for a couple of reasons, the first being that it never deteriorates. It has unlimited use throughout the game, no matter when players obtain it. This means that players won’t have to make use of the Korek charm found in the secret developer room in Dying Light 2. The charm would, under normal circumstances, significantly improve a weapon’s durability, but the only things that can improve the crossbow are a player’s level, perks, and the bolts themselves.

Crossbow bolts in Dying Light 2 could be duplicated at launch, but this ability was later patched out of the game. Players can craft more crossbow bolts in Dying Light 2 using the following items:

Ammo Type

Crafting Recipe

Normal Bolts

10 Scraps, 1 Feather

Freeze Bolts

10 Scraps, 1 Feather, 1 Oxidizer

Impact Bolts

10 Scraps, 1 Feather, 3 Weights

Lacerating Bolts

10 Scraps, 1 Feather, 3 Blades

Stun Bolts

10 Scraps, 1 Feather, 9 Cans

Toxic Bolts

10 Scraps, 1 Feather, 1 Cleaning Supplies

As players continue to level up in Dying Light 2, the crossbow’s damage scales with their level. This means that players can still inflict massive damage on high-level enemies, even when enemies scale to the player’s level after they beat the game. Additionally, all the ranger perks apply to the crossbow as well. Lastly, its ammunition is similar to all the different types of arrows, but since the crossbow is semi-automatic it is far superior to the bow in Dying Light 2.
