Fear The Walking Dead Is Ending For Good Reason, Explains Star

[ad_1]

Fear The Walking Dead is ending for a good reason, explains the show’s star Danay Garcia, and the reason might be somewhat surprising to some.

Danay Garcia, a star of Fear the Walking Dead, explains why the show is coming to an end. A prequel that eventually comes to overlap with the story of The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead follows the adventures of a single family as they wade through a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With walkers around every corner and dangerous humans everywhere, Fear the Walking Dead eventually expands beyond its initial cast to showcase the reality of the world of the zombie apocalypse.

In an Instagram video captured by AMC Plus Europe, Garcia, who plays Luciana Galvez, explains why the show will be coming to an end after season 8.

While The Walking Dead ended with season 11 after 12 years on the air, Fear the Walking Dead is ending sooner. The show is concluding early to ensure that it does not needlessly drag on, according to Garcia. Check out her quote below:

“One of the funniest questions I get asked is: What happened to Fear the Walking Dead that it’s ending? Nothing happened. What happened is that we’ve been on the air for eight seasons, and we felt like it was a really fun run. Nothing really happened to Fear. It’s just that we’ve been on the air for quite some time, and it’s the time.”

How A Natural Ending Benefits Fear The Walking Dead

Fear The Walking Dead

While there have been many shows that were canceled without warning, Fear the Walking Dead will have the opportunity to prevent an awkward ending that might be mired by cliffhangers. Instead, the cast and crew are ending without any dramatic cause, according to Garcia, which allows for a smooth conclusion. Considering that The Walking Dead universe isn’t done yet, a natural ending can ensure goodwill for the franchise going forward.

The Walking Dead: Dead City, which focuses on its New York City location, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, and Rick & Michonne each give the opportunity for The Walking Dead to survive as a franchise. The upcoming The Walking Dead shows need something to build on, and a natural ending for Fear the Walking Dead affords that. A planned ending with well-considered conclusions for each character — and potential hooks for future stories — is essential for ensuring narrative flow between spin-offs.

While Fear the Walking Dead has fallen somewhat off course by shifting to focus on Morgan and Strand after losing much of the Clark family, the series still has the opportunity to offer some closure. While no one will be doing away with the walker threat, as there are still spin-offs to come, the cast and crew can both leave the show knowing that they were not abruptly canceled, despite dwindling ratings. As Garcia implied, Fear the Walking Dead season 8 doesn’t need to overstate its welcome to satisfy viewers.
