The Justice League Prove They Need a Shocking Marvel Hero to Lead Them

[ad_1]

The Justice League are their world’s greatest heroes, but when it comes to teamwork, one surprising Marvel character has a lot to teach them.

Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Wonder Woman #793In the DC Comics Universe, heroes like Superman, Wonder Woman, and their fellow members of the Justice League are generally considered the best of the best. As their world’s premiere superhero team, they’re seen both in community and by many fans as the pinnacle of heroism for the DC Universe. But when it comes to teamwork, there are a few other teams they could stand to learn from – most especially Marvel Comics’ Uncanny X-Men.

The members of the Justice League have saved the world more times than anyone can count. But unlike the X-Men, they’re still individuals first and foremost. And one fun homage in Wonder Woman #793 proves that DC’s greatest heroes do know how to work as a team, but could still benefit from a little tutelage under the supervision of the X-Men’s iconic founder – Professor Charles Xavier.

Conrad, and Emanuela Lupacchino, the three Justice Leaguers don’t hesitate to spring into action. Combining their skills to make short work of their foes, Superman and Wonder Woman even borrow a page out of the X-Men’s playbook by copying Wolverine and Colossus’ patented Fastball Special. The heroes soon make quick work of the remnants of the Imperium, but this exciting moment of teamwork highlights just how much the Justice League could learn from the X-Men, and from its founder Charles Xavier in particular.

The Justice League are clearly the premiere team and first line of defense in the DC Universe, but they are ultimately individuals first and foremost. Their teamwork has saved the day on countless occasions, but their overall nature as solo icons always overshadow the cohesion of the Justice League as a unit. Their personalities and identities as individuals are so strongly developed that they detract – either intentionally or not both within continuity and without – from their effectiveness as a singular unit, especially when compared to groups that have trained specifically to fight together, like the X-Men and even the Teen Titans to a certain extent.

The Justice League Could Use A Charles Xavier

Marvel Comics X-Men Professor X and Legion

Professor X may not be the most noble mutant in the Marvel Universe, no matter how he tries to present otherwise. But one thing that Charles does know how to do is to shape his proteges like Cyclops and his fellow X-Men into an unparalleled fighting force. Not every member of the X-Men is one of the most powerful beings on the planet, but they’ve still managed to go toe-to-toe and come out on top against some of the most dangerous threats in the Marvel Universe due to their years of training to combine their powers as a singular unit. Wolverine and Colossus’ Fastball Special is a perfect example of that training, and were the League to find themselves working a specific regimen designed by Professor X or someone similar, there’s no telling what wonders they could accomplish.

The Justice League are their World’s Greatest Heroes, but they aren’t an infallible team. At the end of the day, their nature as individuals keeps them from becoming the fully integrated fighting force that they have the potential to be. And while he may not be the most heroic mentor they could have, Marvel Comics’ X-Men founder Professor X could teach heroes like Superman and Wonder Woman of DC Comics’ Justice League a thing or two.
