New Details Emerge From Valerie Bertinelli’s Divorce, Including That She Owes Ex Tom Vitale $2.2 Million

Valerie Bertinelli is “happily divorced” from Tom Vitale. However, the split was not inexpensive.

The 62-year-old actress confirmed that the divorce was finalized earlier this week. The couple had been married since January 2011.

Since then, newly obtained legal documents are shedding some light on how the couple divided their shared assets.

According to legal documents obtained by Page Six, Valerie had to pay Tom $2.2 million as a term of the divorce. In return, he needs to vacate her home in Malibu, Calif. before the end of the year.

He would be able to remain in the home rent-free if Valerie did not pay him.

Valerie has reportedly already paid Tom $500,000, which does not count toward the $2.2 million she now owes.

The couple opted out of spousal support in a prenuptial agreement. They filed for divorce in May of this year after being separated for six months.
