Queen Elizabeth’s Friend Refuses to Watch ‘The Crown,’ Calls It ‘Complete Fantasy’

A close friend of Queen Elizabeth made it very clear that she is not a fan of Netflix’s The Crown.

Lady Anne Glenconner can trace her relationship with the late royal back to her coronation day. She took aim at the popular series, which recently faced critiques for being fictionalized.

Lady Anne took it one step further, referring to the show as “complete fantasy.”

“The trouble is that people, especially in America, believe it completely,” she explained during an interview on BBC Radio 4′s Woman’s Hour, according to People. “It’s so irritating. I don’t watch The Crown now because it just makes me so angry.”

Netflix added a disclaimer for the show’s fifth season to make it clear that it was a “fictionalized” retelling.

Earlier this month a royal expert alleged that another member of the royal family once considered suing Netflix over a fictionalized scene in the series.

Meanwhile, one of the actresses who has played Queen Elizabeth commented on what it is like embodying the iconic ruler after her death.
