This is the shocking moment a Washington DC firefighter punched and bit an usher trying to escort him out of a Nationals baseball game after he took the wrong seat – moments after twerking on another member of staff.

Footage showed Christopher Sullivan, 54, a firefighter with DC Fire and EMS, getting into a fight with a group of ushers who confronted him in the stands behind home plate at Nationals Park on Tuesday night.

Sullivan could be seen taunting a pair of ushers by twerking his butt at them as they appeared to try to remove him from the stands.

When a third usher arrived to assist, Sullivan become irate and punched at the usher before sinking his teeth into his arm as a scuffle unfolded.

Sullivan, a West Virginia native, was charged with assault for the incident, and was placed on administrative leave after the footage of the fight went viral. He was also banned from Nationals Park for five years.

In the footage, the crowd at Nationals Park could be heard jeering and booing at Sullivan while yelling ‘Get out of here!’

When the third usher approached he tried to guide Sullivan up the aisle by wrapping a stiff arm around his back and moving him forward.

The move appeared to anger Sullivan, who spun around and began yelling at the usher, who was continuing to box him up the aisle with his body.

The two moved up the aisle like this for several moments, before Sullivan suddenly launched a punch across the usher’s face.

The usher dodged back from the blow, then tried to put Sullivan in a headlock to restrain him.

Sullivan could then be seen sinking his teeth into the hands and arms of the usher as police descended on the scene to break up the fight.

In a statement, DC Fire and EMS characterized Sullivan’s behavior as ‘absolutely unacceptable.’

‘The actions witnessed in the video are absolutely unacceptable,’ the department said, according to Fox News. ‘Our department was notified on September 27, 2022, that an employee of our agency had been arrested and charged with simple assault by Metropolitan Police. Prior to this incident, the individual was on administrative leave with pay, pending the outcome of an internal personnel process. He will remain on leave as our internal investigation into this matter continues.’

In addition to already being on leave at the time of the fight, Sullivan had previously been fired from the department a number of years ago before being reinstated, according to NBC Washington.

It is unclear why Sullivan had been on leave, or why he had been previously fired.

Speaking to WUSA9, Sullivan said the ushers started the altercation, and that he would have left easily had they not put his hands on them.

‘If he had not interacted with me I would have been on my way,’ Sullivan said. ‘For the record, the Nationals park employee who’s being reported as the victim is called a guest service representative (a fancier name for an usher) and I can assure you it’s not in his job description to place his hands or body on any fans.’

Sullivan said he was only in the section near home plate because he was looking for a friend with season tickets nearby. He said the ushers closed in on him after he heckled a Braves player.
