Man Utd transfer news LIVE – Gakpo breakthrough ‘very soon’

Manchester United are likely to turn their attention to Yann Sommer or Diogo Costa if they opt against extending David de Gea’s contract at the end of the season. 

Borussia Monchengladbach star Sommer is soon to be a free agent and, at 34 years old, he has the experience to provide an instant impact. 

Porto stopper Costa is a younger prospect at 23 and he could be much more difficult to get hold of, given that he’s under contract until 2027. 

Bringing back Dean Henderson appears to be out of the picture with the Englishman, currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, keen to leave Old Trafford for good.
