CHICAGO (WLS) — It’s the first weekend in February, and there are plenty of fun things happening in the city and suburbs!

Groundhog Days – Woodstock

Groundhog Day may be over, but the Groundhog Days Festival in Woodstock continues through Sunday! It’s the 30th anniversary of the iconic movie and they’ll have walking tours of filming sites, movie screenings and movie memorabilia.

Dinosaur Adventure – Rosemont

Travel back 65 million years, as Dinosaur Adventure roars into the Stephens Convention Center Saturday and Sunday! Along with life size Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops, you can interact with new baby dinosaurs! There’s also a fossil search, dinosaur rides and more!

Chocolate Weekend – Morton Arboretum

It’s a Chocolate Weekend at the Morton Arboretum, as they celebrate the cacao tree! Sample a variety of chocolates and unique items with a chocolate twist – it’s open Friday for members, Saturday and Sunday for all visitors.

Trial in the Delta: The Murder of Emmett Till – DuSable Museum

With February being Black History Month, make plans now to see Trial in the Delta: The Murder of Emmett Till at the DuSable Museum. This special production is an interactive reenactment of the actual court proceedings from 1955 in Mississippi.

Actors playing witness, along with Emmett Till’s family member will be seated among the audience. This powerful performance runs February 9 to the 19.

Cabaret – Porchlight Music Theatre

The Porchlight Music Theatre’s Production of Cabaret has been extended by popular demand. The Tony Award-winning musical will now run through March 5.

Fika Fest – Andersonville

And the Swedish-inspired Fika Fest is going on now through Sunday in Andersonville! Fika translates to a coffee and cake break, but it’s a lot more – spending time with family and friends, and taking a break to socialize! They’ll feature a coffee and hot cocoa crawl, restaurant specials, retail therapy and the Great Puzzle Exchange!

Wedding Walk – West Loop

If there’s a wedding in your future, take advantage of the West Loop Wedding Walk today from noon to 5 pm! Visit unique venues in the West Loop, staged with food, drinks and other goodies from a variety of wedding vendors. Wedding planners will also be on hand, and your ticket includes transportation between each location!
