Police shut down Dallas street as crews respond to man on crane

DALLAS — Police had a street blocked in West Dallas for hours on Monday as they responded to a man who was on a crane at a construction site.

The incident began around 8 a.m., and the man was still on the crane around 2 p.m.

Singleton was shut down for several blocks, starting around Sylvan Avenue.

Police said the man on the crane was possibly in distress and they were working to get him down.

Video footage from the scene showed the man standing on the crane for over an hour. He was also climbing on part of the crane and standing on wires across the crane.
