Real estate investor Patrick Carroll donates $100K in sneakers to Florida kids

Real estate investor Patrick Carroll is partnering with the nonprofit Boys & Girls Clubs to donate $1 million worth of shoes to kids. That includes $100,000 in sneakers to children in need as the Sunshine State tries to recover from Hurricane Nicole, which wrought devastation earlier this month.

“There is no better feeling than seeing how excited and proud these kids are when they get a new pair of really cool sneakers,” Carroll, 43, told People.

“I don’t know of a more genuine and fulfilling experience than I could imagine,” added the Tampa-based entrepreneur.

The 600 sneakers recently donated come from Ben Kickz, whom Carroll meet in Miami while trying to find shoes for his athletic sons.

“I had just spoken with the Boys & Girls Club here in Miami and they told me their number-one need was sports equipment because the kids did not have enough money to buy shoes … Miami went off so well, I decided to do it in more cities,” said Carroll.
