Zoe, 50, will tackle the gritty challenge after suffering from alopecia – a condition she claims was brought on by the “stress” of the pandemic.

A source exclusively told The Sun of her new telly role: “Bosses think Zoe will be a great signing for the show.

“She is hilarious, so will keep up morale during the course, but she’s also proven how tough she is with her stint on Survivor and also her health battles.

“She will tackle the challenge head on and won’t let anything derail her.”

Zoe’s Survivor stint in 2001 saw her last for an impressive 11 episodes, totally 34 days, which could indicate she’ll be willing to stick out Celeb SAS‘ gruelling challenges.

Back in 2018, she was booted off MasterChef for whipping up two soups – so she may cope well with the simple fare on offer in the special forces training show.

The current series of the Channel 4 show has only just returned to screens but the next batch of celebs will head to an unconfirmed location next month, The Sun can reveal.

More recently, Zoe has battled alopecia in her private life after first suffering hair loss as a child.

Talking of her hair loss, she told MirrorOnline: “I could tell it was going to be significant this time,” she says. “It started with a small patch on the top of my head, then at the nape, and then it just kept going over the course of a year.

“By the time it grows back completely, I will have essentially lost all of my hair, just not all at the same time. It moves across my scalp like a sort of slow, hirsute eclipse, making a brave attempt to grow back in one place while another sheds.”

Zoe’s comedy career began when she won the Funny Women Competition in 2004.

Since then, the comedian has been touring the nation doing stand-up shows.

Her debut solo show Fight or Flight was put forward for the Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2007.

She also won Dave’s Joke of the Fringe award for her second solo show Messed up Modern Mind.

Apart from her success on stage, the star has also appeared on TV shows.

She is regularly on Mock of the Week and has also done stints on Michael McIntyre‘s Comedy Roadshow, The Paul O’Grady Show and The Wright Stuff.

She’s also taken part in Pointless Celebrities and Mastermind.
