CEO Warren Buffett is looking to shape the company for when he’s gone. At a time when other famous conglomerates like General Electric (ticker: GE) are splitting up into multiple more-focused businesses, Buffett has made it clear he wants his sprawling empire to stay together for as long as possible.

“At Berkshire, there will be no finish line,” Buffett, 92, wrote in his annual shareholder letter, released on Saturday.
