East Coast supermarket chain Wegmans plans to temporarily stop using its Scan self-checkout app, introduced during the pandemic, due to theft and losses  —  Many grocery stores started using self-checkout technology during the pandemic.  Experts say the technology makes it easier for shoplifters to sneak by.
