Dota: Dragon’s Blood is getting a second season

[ad_1]

Valve has announced that Dota: Dragon’s Blood will get a second “book,” or season, following the first season’s March 25 premiere. The announcement comes via the Dota 2 Twitter account.

Valve hasn’t offered a new trailer or any details. It simply states that the show’s second season is “in the works.” The tweet does provide a look at the Book 2 logo for Dragon’s Blood, seen below.

The first season of Dragon’s Blood focuses on Davion, better known as Dragon Knight to Dota 2 fans. It tells the story of the Radiant and Dire’s eternal conflict — the two sides players compete for in Dota 2 matches. The series also features beloved Dota 2 heroes like Terrorblade and Invoker.

On the Twitter reveal post, some fans speculate that the season 2 trailer could premiere this August at The International (TI), Dota 2’s annual esports tournament. While a good guess, the idea that TI 2021 could be the location of a trailer debut doesn’t come out of nowhere. The announcement tweet ends with the Dota 2 account suggesting fans return to Free To Play, a documentary on Netflix about the first TI tournament. According to the post, Free To Play recently saw an update to its credit sequence.

Studio Mir — one of the production studios behind The Legend of Korra — developed the first season of Dota: Dragon’s Blood in a partnership with Netflix. We’ll likely learn more details, including a confirmation of Studio Mir’s involvement, about Book 2 later this year.
