2 injured in shooting in South Loop

CHICAGO — Two people were injured after gunfire erupted in the South Loop on Saturday night.

According to Chicago fire officials, the shooting broke out in the evening hours near South Canal Street and West Roosevelt Road.

Officials did not provide details on what led up to the gunfire but said two people were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Chicago police have not yet provided updates on the shooting.
