CHICAGO (WLS) — Tuesday is First Responders and Military Appreciation Day at the Chicago Auto Show.

This is the second year the Chicago Auto Show has set aside a day for First Responders and Military personnel, both veterans and active duty. The special acknowledgment came as a result of the pandemic and show organizers wanting to show gratitude for all the hard work and dedication.

All police officers, EMTs, Paramedics, and fire fighters, along with Military veterans and active duty get in free with their badge or military ID. Their guest get a $5 discount.

One of the most popular spots in the show – for all visitors – is the Supercar Gallery.

“These are vehicles that range in price from about a quarter million up to $2.8 million,” Jim O’Brill, marketing director for the Chicago Auto Show, said. These are not the cars you’re going to see rolling around the streets of Chicago very often.”

You’ve got your choice of Maserati, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce or McLaren – and don’t forget the Lamborghini Countach, one of only 112 that were produced, priced at $2.8 millions!

“The actual middle console can fold over and it can create a work space, the onboard generator not only supplies power for your tools on the job site, but it has enough power to supply an average sized home for up to three days,” Ford product specialist Sam Bradley.

Not only will you see all the special features on the Ford F-150, you’ll increase your vocabulary!

You guessed it! Since it’s an electric vehicle, there’s no engine under the hood, and the battery is in the back – that space has been repurposed as a front storage area, ie, the frunk!
