BEACH PARK, Ill. — Charges have been filed against three people accused in a violent home invasion in Beach Park on Friday morning.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, it all started around 9 a.m. when deputies were called to the 38700 block of North Sheridan Road, in Beach Park, to help a woman retrieve her belongings from a home in the area.

After arriving on scene, authorities located 30-year-old Melinda Uribe, who told deputies that she occasionally stayed at the home and was upset because the person who lived inside would not open the door and allow her to get her things.

After deputies knocked on the door and nobody answered, they advised Uribe to come back at a later time with an escort from sheriff’s deputies. Uribe then left the scene.

About an hour later, around 10 a.m., a deputy who was still in the neighborhood completing paperwork in his cruiser spotted Uribe allegedly returning to the home in a vehicle.

Deputies say Uribe and a man, who has since been identified as 41-year-old Robert Carr, a Mundelein resident, then allegedly exited the car and forced their way through the front door of the home.

According to deputies, a third person, later identified as 43-year-old Keith Daniels, then allegedly entered the home shortly after the other two. It is currently unclear if Daniels was inside the vehicle with the other two individuals.

Once inside the home, deputies say Uribe and Carr allegedly attacked and beat the person who lived inside.

Deputies responded to the scene and were able to take all three into custody.

The victim did not wish to seek medical treatment, deputies say.
