Former Hunter Biden business partner snagged jobs in Trump, Biden administrations

A senior adviser at a business firm founded by the president’s embattled son Hunter Biden landed Commerce Department appointments under both the Trump and Biden administrations.

John Nevergole, who worked with Rosemont Seneca Advisors, a since-defunct investment firm co-founded and run by Hunter Biden, was first appointed to the President’s Advisory Council for Doing Business in Africa (PAC-DBIA) in 2019 by Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.

This summer, President Biden’s pick to head the department, Gina Raimondo, re-appointed Nevergole to the same advisory committee.

Emails obtained by Fox News Digital on Wednesday show that Nevergole helped Biden and Rosemont Seneca Advisors broker business deals around the world dating back to 2011.

In an August 2011 email to Hunter Biden with the subject line “RE: OAS – John Nevergole,” OAS referring to a Brazilian construction firm, former Rosemont Seneca Advisors President Eric Schwerin praises Nevergole as a business relationship that “can bear fruit” amid a discussion about his compensation.

“So, I am OK with 70/30 … Mainly because I think the relationship can bear fruit in other areas down the line, e.g. in Africa if we choose to focus there,”  Schwerin informed Biden.

During Nevergole’s relationship with Rosemont Seneca Advisors, it appears he maintained his role as CEO of the ABD Group, a company he co-founded that leads investments and projects in Africa.

In another email from 2014, when Hunter Biden had just been appointed to the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma, Nevergole emails Biden and Schwerin about potential business opportunities.

“‎Please let me know the thoughts on the above and if Burisma would be interested to explore any further,” Nevergole wrote in the email listing “potential gas opportunities for discussion” in Africa.

Nevergole was also apparently introduced by Schwerin to Xin Wang, the managing director of BHR Partners, an investment firm backed by the Chinese government which Hunter Biden reportedly still owns a stake in

“We will connect you with our guys over in China,” Schwerin emailed Nevergole in April 2015, before connecting him with Wang.

Nevergole later emailed Biden and Schwerin telling them that it “was good to meet BHR” and that he would like to “catch up” when he returned from a trip to China and “go over some ideas on how we can work together overall on the China initiative.”

The trove of emails also show that Nevergole facilitated several meetings between Hunter Biden, Schwerin, and African leaders and diplomats.

The Department of Commerce denied to Fox News Digital that Nevergole’s connections to the president’s son influenced the department’s decision to reappoint him.

It’s unclear if the Commerce Department run by Wilbur Ross under Trump was aware of Nevergole’s ties to Hunter Biden.

House Republicans have vowed to investigate the president and his son over allegations the Biden family ran a global influence peddling operation.
