American Airlines plane and shuttle bus collide on taxiway at LAX, leaving 4 hospitalized

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Four people were hospitalized after an American Airlines plane and a shuttle bus collided on a taxiway at Los Angeles International Airport, authorities said.

The collision was reported just before 10 p.m. Friday at an unspecified area of the taxiway.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the plane was being towed when it collided with the bus.

Four people were sent to the hospital and another person was treated at the scene.

“The tug driver was transported in moderate condition, the bus driver and two passengers were transported in fair condition, and the sole person aboard the plane (worker) was treated, but declined transport,” LAFD said.

A large skid mark was left from the plane’s tire, and the bus’ windshield appeared damage.
