‘MyPillow Guy’ Mike Lindell says he’s ‘100% running’ for RNC chair

Mike Lindell, the noted election denier and Donald Trump ally known as the​ “MyPillow Guy,” announced on Monday that he will run for chair of the Republican National Committee.

“With all my due diligence and in prayer, I am 100% running for RNC chairman against Ronna McDaniel,” Lindell told former Trump White House strategist Steve Bannon on his “War Room” podcast.

Lindell, who is under federal investigation for election tampering and had his phone seized by the FBI in September, claimed he has been encouraged to seek the position by people across the country.

“One of the big donors said to me, he said, ‘Mike, everybody wants you to be head of the RNC, some of them just don’t know it yet,’” the MyPillow founder and chief executive said.

“I didn’t hear one negative from donors. … I’m all in and not only am I going to win, but it’s going to change real fast. We’re going to get our country righted really quick,” he continued.​

Lindell has been lobbing threats to challenge McDaniel since Republicans’ underwhelming performance in the midterm elections in which they narrowly won control of the House but failed to regain the Senate. 

The 61-year-old Lindell accused McDaniel, 49, of failing as a leader. 

​“​W​e need someone who knows how to run a business to lead one of the most important organizations in our country,”​ he told the National File last week. ​

A spokesperson for McDaniel’s re-election campaign, when reached for comment, pointed out that 100 voting members of the RNC have already pledged to support her bid — easily surpassing the majority McDaniel would need to secure another term. 

Lindell, who attended the 76-year-old former President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign launch earlier this month at Mar-a-Lago, is not one of the 168 members of the RNC.​

The McDaniel campaign also said that Reince Priebus, who served as chair of the RNC​ from 2011 to 2017, sent a letter to the organization’s members endorsing another term for McDaniel.

Besides Lindell, another possible McDaniel rival is outgoing Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) who came close to knocking off Gov. Kathy Hochul in the Empire State.

“I am very seriously considering your requests and am grateful for your messages,” Zeldin told committee members in a letter sent Nov. 17.

​Zeldin, 42, saw his star rise among Republicans ​for the effective campaign he waged against Hochul in a state where Democrats outnumber GOP voters by about two-to-one. 

Besides the federal probe, Lindell faces a defamation lawsuit from the voting-machine company Dominion for promoting false claims about fraud in the 2020 election.

Dominion is asking for a $1.3 billion judgment against the pillow magnate.
