‘Days of Our Lives’ actor Cody Longo dead at 34

Actor Cody Longo, best known for his roles on “Days of Our Lives” and “Hollywood Heights,” was found dead at a home in Austin, Texas. He was 34.

His wife, Stephanie Longo, became concerned when she could not reach him on Wednesday and requested that police perform a wellness check, TMZ reported. When Longo did not respond to their knocks, officers forced entry into the Austin residence and discovered Longo dead on a bed inside.

Longo’s representative, Alex Gittelson, confirmed his death on Friday to CNN and provided a statement from the actor’s wife, Stephanie Clark, with whom he shared two children.

“Cody was our whole world,” she said. “The kids and I are shattered and beyond devastated. He was the best dad and best father. We will always and forever miss you and love you.”

The actor was “a dear friend going back many years” before he was a client, Gittelson added.

“Cody was such a loyal, loving and talented person and he will be greatly missed,” he said.

Born in Colorado in 1988, Longo kicked off his career on the stage before moving to Los Angeles to pursue his passions, according to his IMDb. He studied psychology and film at the University of California, Los Angeles and started his professional acting career in 2009.

Longo was in several popular television shows over the years, including “Medium,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “CSI: NY.” In 2011, he appeared as Nicholas Alamain on the soap opera “Days of Our Lives” for an eight-episode stretch.

According to his IMDb page, the young actor also had several unfinished upcoming projects, including an untitled racing television show.

Longo’s cause of death was unclear, but family friend told TMZ he’d long struggled with alcohol abuse and went to rehab over the summer.
