Former Nets star Kevin Durant likely won’t make his Phoenix Suns debut until next week, but he gave his new teammates a glimpse of the offensive juggernaut they have during an intense practice Thursday.

The 13-time All-Star sure made an impression on center Deandre Ayton while working in conjunction with star Devin Booker.

“Then KD just getting in his bag and doing it on my team,” Ayton said after Thursday’s workouts. “Wearing the same jerseys. It was pretty cool and just seeing him and Book, he’s scoring, Book scoring, 3. Dump it off to me. It’s insane man.”

Said Booker on playing with Durant: “It’s hard to put to words. I can’t wait to do it against other teams.”

Durant, who has been sidelined since Jan. 8 with a right MCL sprain, won’t make his Suns debut Friday night against Oklahoma City in their first game after the All-Star break. The Athletic is reporting that Phoenix is targeting Wednesday, March 1, at Charlotte for Durant’s debut.

Following Kyrie Irving’s trade out of Brooklyn to Dallas, Durant fled west to Arizona on Feb. 9 for Mika Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jaw Crowder and four unprotected first-round picks.

Before his injury, Durant was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game and had the Nets rising to second in the Eastern Conference.

Phoenix is fifth in the Western Conference with a 32-28 record, just 1½ games behind third-place Sacramento. With Durant playing alongside Booker, Ayton and Chris Paul, the Suns are now the favorites (+220) to reach the NBA Finals out of the West.
