Jalen Brunson named Eastern Conference Player of the Month

Jalen Brunson was snubbed from the All-Star game last month but he was February’s best player.

Brunson was announced Thursday as the Eastern Conference Player of the Month, becoming just the second Knick in over nine years to win the award.

He beat out nominee Julius Randle, who was the last Knick to win in 2021.

Jalen Brunson continues to be a bright spot for the Knicks.

In his 10 February games, Brunson averaged 27.3 points and six assists on 53% shooting. The Knicks went 8-2 with Brunson as the stabilizing leader.

“It’s something I’ve seen for a long time,” said Josh Hart, who was also teammates with Brunson at Villanova. “If you talk to anybody from ‘Nova, he had that impact. If you talk to anybody from Dallas, he had that impact also. He’s just one of those guys that you want to build your culture around. It’s something that he does on a daily basis and it’s beneficial to the whole locker room.”

Denver’s Nikola Jokic won the Western Conference Player of the Month for February.
