Jansen Panettiere, an actor and the younger brother of actress Hayden Panettiere, died of an enlarged heart, his family said Tuesday.

Jansen, who was born in Palisades, N.Y., died this month at age 28.

“Though it offers little solace, the Medical Examiner reported Jansen’s sudden passing was due to cardiomegaly (enlarged heart), coupled with aortic valve complications,” his family said in a statement to ABC News.

“We love you so much Jansen and you will be in our hearts forever.”

Representatives for Jansen and Hayden Panettiere didn’t immediately respond to Daily News requests for comment.

A person experiences cardiomegaly as the result of another medical condition, according to the Mayo Clinic. It is not a disease on its own.

Jansen Panettiere voiced characters in “Ice Age: The Meltdown” and “Blue’s Clues” and starred with his sister on the Disney Channel movie “Tiger Cruise.” He most recently appeared in the 2022 romantic-comedy film “Love and Love Not.”

Jansen’s heart could be seen in his eyes, and his charm in his brilliant, engaging smile; his soul in his masterful and revealing paintings, and the joy of life in his dry wit,” his family said.

“His charisma, warmth, compassion for others, and his creative spirit will live forever in our hearts and in the hearts of all whom he encountered.”

Hayden, 33, is known for the superhero series “Heroes” and the “Scream” film franchise. She was also born in Palisades, about 25 miles north of New York City.
