A man died in a Brooklyn hospital Thursday after he shot himself, police said.

He was at Mount Sinai Brooklyn on Kings Highway near New York Ave. in East Midwood when gunfire rang out around 6:15 p.m., cops said.

He was treated at the hospital but died of his injuries about 35 minutes later, police said.

The man had been admitted to the hospital for treatment for an unspecified issue when he fatally shot himself on the third floor, according to hospital staff.

There was an emergency evacuation and a complete lockdown, but patients were eventually readmitted, staff said.

The hospital provided no further details on the shooting or the victim.

“We are saddened to learn of the tragic shooting incident at Mount Sinai Brooklyn,” said spokeswoman Karin Eskenazi. “There is no current threat at Mount Sinai Brooklyn.”
