A Mississippi man bit off another man’s nose in a casino parking lot after arguing about a golf game.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. earlier this week at the Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis. Responding officers found the victim with a disfiguring facial injury.

“The investigation determined that suspect Mark Curtis Wells bit the nose off of the victim,” Bay St. Louis Police chief Toby Schwartz said of the Monday incident in a news release.

Officers were told the men argued about a golf game played at the resort throughout the day.

Wells, 51, of Biloxi, had fled the scene in a Tesla by the time officers arrived, but turned himself in to police on Wednesday.

Wells was charged with felony mayhem and booked at the Hancock County jail before posting bond for himself and being released. He faces up to seven years in prison if convicted.

Felony mayhem was described as a “crime committed with the intent to kill in which the suspect mutilates, disfigures, disables, or destroys someone’s tongue, eye, lip, nose, limb or another body part.”

The Hollywood Casino features a golf course designed by Arnold Paler.
