Newly obtained video from the night of the fatal stabbing of four University of Idaho students shows victims mentioning a man named “Adam” — though one victim’s father said he’s not considered a suspect.

FILE - Boise State University students, along with people who knew the four University of Idaho students who were found killed in Moscow, Idaho, days earlier, pay their respects at a vigil held in front of a statue on the Boise State campus, Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022, in Boise, Idaho. Investigators have yet to name a suspect in the stabbing deaths of four University of Idaho students who were found dead in a home near campus last month.

Surveillance footage obtained by Fox News from a Facebook group of amateur armchair detectives showed two of the victims, 21-year-old Kaylee Goncalves and Maddie Mogen, the night they were killed. The clip shows them walking as Goncalves asks, “Maddie, what did you say to Adam?” and a second voice, likely Mogen’s, responding, “Like, I told Adam everything.”

The same man was also seen with them at a food truck they visited later that evening, police said. Goncalves’ father said Sunday that the man was not a suspect, reiterating what police had said weeks earlier.

“We asked and did the obvious due diligence, and we looked into that, and it was pretty clear that this individual was not a part of the investigation as far as a suspect,” Steve Goncalves, Kaylee Goncalves’ father, said in a TV interview Saturday.

Moscow, Idaho, police continue to provide updates and this week repeated the plea for people not to spread rumors and misinformation in their zeal for answers.

“At this time, no suspect has been identified and only vetted information that does not hinder the investigation will be released to the public,” police said in a statement Friday. “We encourage referencing official releases for accurate information and updated progress.”

The two women, along with close friends Xana Kernodle, and boyfriend Ethan Chapin, both 20, were stabbed to death in their beds hours after the video conversation.

The latest substantive clue is a possible scream picked up by an officer’s body cam as he responded to an unrelated incident nearby around the time of the slayings, police said Friday.
