President Biden’s granddaughter Naomi Biden married Peter Neal over the weekend in a private affair at The People’s House.

The first couple hosted the ceremony and reception on Saturday for their eldest grandchild.

President Joe Biden's granddaughter Naomi Biden and her fiance, Peter Neal, are married on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022.

The bride, 28, and groom, 25, said “I do” before 250 family members and friends on the South Lawn of the White House — with no press allowed. Both newlyweds sported threads from Ralph Lauren.

Naomi Biden is the eldest daughter of Hunter Biden, the president’s younger son, and his first wife, Kathleen Buhle.

The couple met about four years ago when a mutual friend set them up in New York City, and Neal proposed in September 2021. They decided earlier this year to have both the reception and the ceremony at the White House.

The Bidens are paying for the wedding. Details remained private at the request of the couple, the 19th to get married at the White House.

The most recent White House wedding happened in 2013, when former President Barack Obama’s official photographer, Pete Souza, married Patti Lease in the Rose Garden. Jenna Bush, daughter of ex-President George W. Bush, held her reception at the White House in 2008.

President Biden himself turned 80 on Sunday.

“It has been a joy to watch Naomi grow, discover who she is, and carve out such an incredible life for herself,” the first couple said in a statement. “[W]e are filled with pride to see her choose Peter as her husband and we’re honored to welcome him to our family.”
