Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene says she was attacked by ‘demon’ liberals in D.C. restaurant

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene says she was “attacked” while she worked with staffers Monday night in a Washington, D.C., restaurant.

The conservative firebrand, who howled “liar” at President Biden during his State of the Union speech and once taunted a Parkland school shooting survivor, bemoaned the lack of decorum shown by the “demon” liberals who allegedly interrupted her working meal.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) yells as US President Joe Biden delivers the State of the Union address at the US Capitol in Washington, DC, February 7, 2023.

“They had no respect for … people like me who simply have different political views,” Greene tweeted. “They are self righteous, insane, and completely out of control.”

The Georgia lawmaker said she was caught by surprised by the fellow diners, including a woman and her grown son.

After initially approaching her politely, the pair started yelling and menacing her, she claimed.

“They turned into demons. People used to respect others even if they had different views. But not anymore,” she said. “Our country is gone.”

Despite her use of overheated language, Greene was apparently not physically accosted at all and she did not mention any police involvement.

Nick Dyer, an aide to Greene, said it’s not fair to bring political confrontation into a restaurant.

“The congresswoman deserves to be able to eat at a restaurant in peace,” said Dyer, who refused to name the eatery.

Her plea for comity notwithstanding, Greene has prided herself on being an aggressive fighter for conservative views.

Greene once hassled David Hogg, a survivor of the Parkland school shooting, as the gun control advocate walked down a Washington, D.C. street.

She accosted Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) in the halls of Congress in hopes of forcing the progressive lawmaker to debate her Green New Deal environmental proposal.

In recent days, she has called on red states to secede from the union in what she euphemistically calls a “national divorce.”

Greene also suggested Americans who move to GOP-run states shouldn’t be immediately allowed to vote, a shocking violation of democratic norms.
