Super Bowl LVII Live Updates: Eagles Offense Races Out to 10-point Lead at Half

[ad_1]

The Super Bowl LVII show has begun in Glendale, Ariz.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs wasted no time getting on the board, each scoring on their opening drive.

For Philadelphia, it was a quarterback sneak by Jalen Hurts that kicked things off. Meanwhile, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes connected with tight end Travis Kelce to level the score. This was the 14th postseason touchdown for the pair, second to only Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.

The action continued in the second quarter when Hurts found A.J. Brown in double-coverage for a 45-yard touchdown. However, just when it looked like the Eagles were going to take a 21-7 lead, a costly turnover by Hurts gave Kansas City seven quick points on a Nick Bolton scoop-and-score.

Hurts recovered with another rushing touchdown and set up kicker Jake Elliott for a field goal with time expiring to head into the lockerroom with 24-14 lead.

The big question for Kansas City heading into halftime is Mahomes’ ankle. For the past three weeks, the NFL MVP has been rehabing a high ankle sprain after going down against the Jaguars in the divisional round.

He seemed in full force through nearly the entire first half. Facing third-and-long with just under two minutes, Mahomes took off but was taken down short of the first down and came up hobbling on that same right ankle. He was seen jogging off field at halftime, but all eyes remain on the ankle heading into the third quarter.

The battle for the Lombardi Trophy continues after the halftime show starring Rihanna.

Here’s all the latest news and updates during Super Bowl LVII.
