Seattle Police hunt for suspect after 61-year-old stabbed in Pioneer Square

Seattle police are investigating after a 61-year-old was stabbed in Pioneer Square Saturday night.

Police responded around 10:20 p.m. to reports of a stabbing in the 50 block of S Main Street, where they found a man with a stab wound in his back.

Officers provided first aid while waiting for Seattle Fire to arrive at the scene. When they did arrive, medics treated the victim and transported him to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The victim said that he was in an alley when an unknown man approached him from behind and stabbed him in the back. The victim tried to turn around to fight the suspect, but the man ran off.

Police don’t currently have a description for the suspect at this time, but police are looking for nearby surveillance footage.

Seattle Police detectives will continue to investigate this incident.
