Sunday weather still tricky; Look out for patchy ice
Driving conditions are awful today. Cold temperatures combined with a rain/snow mix are creating tough weather conditions for many of us in western Washington.
At 8am there are showers–it was raining here on the NOAA campus on Lake Washington and 38 deg but you might see some wet snow mixing in. Also, roads are likely to be icy in some areas so slow down. pic.twitter.com/ByihhL9UoB

WSDOT and SDOT both are reminding people to be aware of driving conditions and slow down.
The passes remain problematic. Check with the specific pass you are using to get home because conditions change frequently.
KIRO 7 meteorologist Frankie Katafias writes in the weather blog:
With a low-pressure system parked off the coast of Oregon Saturday, early Sunday morning it’ll start making moves heading north into western Washington. With freezing overnight temperatures and tomorrow’s high temperatures set to be a few degrees cooler than today Lewis County and central Puget Sound can expect early morning flurries as snow levels will be at 400ft. As daytime heating increases, snow flurries will quickly transition into more of a rain/snow mix around Tacoma and slightly north with cold rain likely for Seattle. In Lewis, Pierce, and Thurston counties snow accumulation will not be significant. According to current models it’s fair to assume a few tenths of an inch is possible.
