Assistant Treasurer warns of ‘long tail of risks’ after Optus data leak

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says Assistant Treasurer Stephen Jones has warned there will be a "long tail of risks for consumers” resulting from the leak of Optus customers’ data.

“He told all Optus customers to contact their banks to ensure they aren't being scammed,” Mr Clennell said.

Mr Clennell said the Attorney-General “again flagged” the government would now “urgently move to change laws”.

“To ensure that companies are held to account if they let data go.”
