Chinese ambassador ‘working overtime to lie’ for CCP: Bolt
Sky News host Andrew Bolt says Chinese Ambassador Xiao Qian is “working overtime to lie” for the Chinese Communist Party.
“His speech at the National Press Club last month was a car crash,” he said.
“Last night he was back again on the ABC, which I think could have been a bit tougher on him to be honest.”
Mr Bolt said Mr Xiao once again “threatened the 23 million people of Taiwan” with “brainwashing and punishment” if China were to take over the independent democratic island.
“And the ambassador had the absolute hide to deny that one million Muslim Uyghurs inside China are already getting that re-education in concentration camps that are sweeping up men, women, even teenagers to turn them into Communist supporters of the regime,” he said.
“Something that a United Nations report has finally confirmed after Chinese efforts to delay and suppress it.”
He discussed the issue with former foreign minister Alexander Downer.
