Government to fight recommendation to list the Great Barrier Reef as ‘in danger’

The Albanese government is preparing to fight a recommendation to have the Great Barrier Reef listed as ‘in danger’ by the World Heritage Council.

Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek will head to Montreal in December for a UN Biodiversity Conference, where she’s planning to lobby member countries of the World Heritage Committee against listing the reef as in danger.
