Kansas Police Rescue Woman From Burning Car

Police and firefighters in Leawood, Kansas – in the Kansas City area – pulled a woman from a burning car following a crash on Monday, November 14, dramatic bodycam footage shows. Bodycam footage from a Leawood Police Department officer shows a burning car overturned in a parking lot. Officers run to the vehicle, asking whether it can be lifted to free a woman whose legs are visible sticking out from inside. One officer is heard telling the woman, “Stay with us. We got you!” Grunting is heard as the car is moved slightly, and officers then pull the woman from the flaming vehicle. The Leawood Police Department said that the 51-year-old woman was taken to a nearby hospital. Her condition was not released. Police said the preliminary investigation indicated that the car had failed to stop at an intersection before continuing into the parking lot, then hitting another car and a tree before catching fire.
