Women would like ‘the option’ to stay home with newborns longer

If Labor “actually cared” about what women wanted they’d have policies which allow them to stay home with a newborn baby, says Sky News host Rita Panahi.

“Women who have just had a child would like the option to stay home a little bit longer with the child, but its economic needs that have them back in the workforce full-time,” Ms Panahi said.

“If you actually want to really give women the option to do what’s best for their family, make it possible for them to stay at home a little bit longer if that’s what they want.”
