The young grid star’s short tenure with the Bills ended Saturday when he was released.
“The Buffalo Bills had no choice but to cut their young punter after so badly botching their response to our claim: They ignored us, as though what I warned them would happen could be avoided if they just kept their heads in the sand,” Daniel Gilleon said in a statement to the Buffalo News. “This is what enablers do.”
Araiza’s lawyer has claimed the young woman is only after money.
“Not once did she express to me a desire to hurt her assaulters out of revenge or hatred,” Gilleon said. “She never asked for a pound of flesh. Her only ask was the kind of justice that might save other young women from the hell she experienced.”

The lawyer added: “I’ve never seen a more grotesque handling of a serious claim in my entire career.”

Meanwhile, Bills GM Brandon Beane told reporters: “This is bigger than football. Our culture in Buffalo is more important than winning football games.”
The boss said the team was unaware of the tempest swirling around Azaria before the draft last April. He added that neither did anyone else.
For his part, Azaiza said he “aims to set the record straight.”
According to the lawsuit filed in San Diego, Araiza and pals Zavier Leonard and Nowlin ‘Pa’a’ Ewaliko gang-raped the teen at a 2021 Halloween party at Araiza’s home. The alleged victim was underage at the time.

Cops recorded Araiza telling the teen she needed to get tested for chlamydia. She was allegedly “bloody and crying” following the 90-minute attack.
The alleged victim was “observably intoxicated upon arrival” at the Oct. 17 Halloween party. Araiza reportedly offered her a drink, which she believes “not only contained alcohol, but other intoxicating substances.”
After telling the grid star she was a high school senior, he led her outside and asked her to perform oral sex on him. According to the suit, they then had sex before he took her to a bedroom.
There, three other men waited. The lawsuit states Araiza threw her on the bed and she was raped repeatedly while drifting in and out of consciousness.
She emerged “bloody and crying” and her nose, belly button and ear piercings had been yanked out.
Afterwards, cops coached her on stitching up Araiza. In a recorded call, he admits having sex with her before suggesting she get tested for STDs.
