Fans all say the same as Villa release clip of Luiz scoring corners in training

FOOTBALL fans have ridiculed Aston Villa after they shared footage of Douglas Luiz scoring from a corner in training… following his identical goal in the Carabao Cup.

Steven Gerrard’s side beat League One side Bolton 4-1 on Tuesday night as they comfortably progressed through to the third round of the competition.

They had fallen behind midway through the first half as Wanderers went in front through Dion Charles.

But 12 minutes later the Premier League outfit drew level in quite incredibly fashion.

The University of Bolton Stadium watched on as Luiz’s corner swung all the way over those in the box and into the net beyond keeper Joel Dixon.

At first glance, it seemed like a fluke.

But on Wednesday morning, Villa’s official Twitter account posted a split screen clip of Luiz‘s goal and him doing the same in training.

The two videos were almost identical as Luiz curled the ball into the net from the most ludicrous of angles.

Luiz also managed to net the same corner-kick goal in pre-season against Walsall.

However, fans on social media were confused as to why Villa had shown other teams their tactic and utilised it in a cup game of little importance.

One said: “You wasted this on a Carabao game?”

While another added: “And then put it on social media for all to see. Genius.”

And a third called on the team to practice other parts of the game instead, saying: “Can we now start practicing defending set pieces? Thanks.”

Villa have lost two of their opening three Premier League games of the season against Bournemouth and Crystal Palace.

They did beat Everton, but are still down in 13th place.

Next up for Gerrard‘s men is a home match against West Ham, before they face Arsenal and Manchester City.
