Do you remember when Gillian McKeith “fainted” live on ‘I’m a Celebrity…’?

TV star Gillian McKeith is reportedly in advanced talks to sign up for an All Stars edition of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here, which is to be filmed in South Africa this summer .

During her stint on the hit ITV show in 2010, the 62-year old famously passed out while taking part in a Bushtucker Trial, with hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly catching her before crew medics provided her with oxygen.

You Are What You Eat star Gillian, who was voted by the public to take part in several trials in the tenth series, was chained in an underground coffin and surrounded by rats before she fainted – and is now said to be lined up to do it all again.

The presenter has since claimed her exploits in the Australian jungle left her suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Speaking in an interview last year she said: “I definitely still suffer from PTSD. Since that jungle trial, the one where I was buried under the ground in a coffin and rats landed on top of me, it still feels like yesterday.

“What has happened is, every time I have to go into a small space like a lift, I feel like I’m going to start screaming. I feel an intense rising panic that I simply can’t control.

“I went in without claustrophobia and came out with it.”

ITV bosses have been drawing up a list of stars from the show’s 21-year history who they would like to appear in the series, with producers expecting the Gillian to officially sign a contract in the coming days, according to the Sun.

“Gillian’s performance in 2010 was nothing short of legendary,” a source told the publication.

“She was high on the hit list when producers decided they were going to do the Best Of series next year.

“She’s all but confirmed now. Talks are still ongoing and advanced, but everyone is confident she will put pen to paper and head to South Africa for filming in the next few months. It’ll be telly gold.”

The series will air on ITV in 2023.

Gillian presented the first four series of You Are What You Eat during its run from 2004 to 2006.

The show was revived this year, however, with presenter Trisha Goddard and Dr Amir Khan replacing the Scotswoman.

After landing their roles, the pair were quick to take aim at their predecessor.

“I never looked at any of the previous shows. I’m more into understanding people,” said Trisha.

“TV’s moved on since then. We are more aware now that if someone’s got a problem with food it’s usually a demonstration of something deeper. There’s always a backstory, always, and I think that’s something that had been missed out [by McKeith].”

Dr Amir added: “I try to avoid anything she tweets really because we are on very different paths.

“I didn’t watch her shows much. I remember her going into people’s houses with a Tupperware of poo and sifting through it and thinking, ‘This is gross’.”
