I’m a mum & my easy drawer tip gets the kids to make their own school lunches
DO you get fed up making school lunches for your kids?
A mum-of-four has revealed how she gets her children to pack their own lunch bags each morning using her clever drawer hack.
TikTok user Shannon Doherty, who posts under @athomewithshannon, showed how she makes a lunch station for her kids.
She lays out six bins full of different items, and each child gets to pick one item from each.
Shannon explained: “I create bins in our fridge and let my family choose one item from each bin to pack their lunch in the morning.
“I do a veggie, protein, grains, fruit, treat, drink and a note from mum.
“They love the independence and I love the help.”
She added the caption: “SELF SERVE LUNCH BOX HACK. BEST Mom Hack for Back to School.”
Helpfully, she listed the items she puts in each bin.
In the protein drawer, her kids can choose from deli meat, a hard boiled egg, cheese and edamame.
Meanwhile, they can pick cucumbers, tomatoes, string beans and frozen corn from the veggies.
The grains drawer has croissants, pretzel, crackers, pasta and pita, and the fruit one contains a selection including bananas, strawberries, oranges, blueberries and mango.
