Katie Baker, known on TikTok as ‘keeksandkooks’ explained that although hand tattoos look good on some celebrities, including singer Ariana Grande, they typically do not turn out well and don’t last as long as other tattoos.

The tattoo expert uploaded her video with the caption ‘No disrespect Ariana please’. 

She said: “Why tattoo artists hate finger tattoos.

“Finger tattoos do not look great.

“Ariana Grande is one of the most successful artists in the world, she can afford a decent tattoo artist.

“But when you see people with really faded, really patchy, almost blue finger tattoos, it’s not a question of if the ink was cheap or the tattoo artist didn’t do a good job.

“It’s a hassle to stretch that skin anyway, more than anything, that skin is constantly moving and constantly shedding and creating new cells so healing is a nightmare. 

“Even if the tattoo heals clean at first, it will probably fade really nastily over time. 

“Basically, it’s a lot of hassle for you and me for little to no pay off.

“At the end of the day I just want to make you feel better with your skin, not worse”.

Katie’s video has clearly impressed many, as it has racked up a whopping 9.7million views.

It has 1.7million likes, 10k likes and 5,632 shares. 

One person said: “She has a point.” 

Another added: “My tattoo artist said the same. She told me she would straight up not do finger tattoos because the tattoo would fade quickly and it’s a cash grab”. 

A third commented: “My artist warned me about this but still did mine. Two are a bit patchy after healing but hopefully with a touch up they’ll be fine.” 

However, many other TikTokers revealed that they have finger tattoos and have not had any issues with them. 

One person revealed: “I’ve had my tattoo by one artist for 4 years now and still haven’t asked for a touch up”. 

Another explained: “Mine is still going strong from 2012”. 

Meanwhile, someone else claimed: “My tattoo artist warned me of bad fading on my hand tattoo for the same reason. It’s been 10 years and not one single touch up”.
