You have the eyes of an eagle if you can see straight lines in illusion

THIS optical illusion is so difficult that anyone who can figure it out must have eagle eyes.

Cognitive psychologist Dr. Gavin Buckingham recently posted an optical illusion on Twitter that is blowing the minds of people everywhere.

Buckingham wrote a caption along with an attached image of the illusion, explaining what is supposed to be seen and where it originates.

“The horizontal lines are actually parallel, and not at all slanted. Look at the distance between them at the start and end of each row if you don’t believe it. Wonderful version of the cafe wall illusion, by Victoria Skye,” he says.

In reference, the image from Victoria Skye includes a detailed pattern with horizontal lines that appear to be angled at first glance.

However, if you have the vision that allows you to do so, squinting real close and looking at the start and end of each row like Buckingham says will reveal that the lines are horizontal.

For those that struggled with it, Buckingham explained that high contrast is needed to properly see the illusion.

“This effect is driven by the tiny areas of high contrast in the corner of each ‘square’. If you can’t see the contrast sharply, the effect isn’t there,” he explained.

Viewers in the comments were amazed by the simplicity and effect of the optical illusion.
