Cofounded by Rosario Dawson and Abrima Erwiah, Studio 189 celebrates African design and sustainability. Based in Accra, Ghana, Studio 189 works with local artisan communities, who specialize in traditional craftsmanship techniques from natural plant-based dye, to hand-batik, and kente weaving. Most recently, the brand collaborated with J.Crew on a limited-edition special collection featuring Studio 189’s signature bold prints and breezy, locally-sourced materials.
