Anna Marie Tendler may have a new love in her life after divorcing her husband of six years, John Mulaney, in 2021.

It seems that the artist has moved on with hip NYC chef Nicholas Tran. According to Page Six, the pair has been dating for a couple of months and reportedly traveled to Japan together. Tran is the long-haired, tattooed chef behind the popular restaurant The Darkroom, a secret eight-seat supper club in the Financial District where he serves tasting menus featuring multiple courses inspired by his Asian background and time spent training in Italy. He has also cooked in the past for Gramercy Tavern, sushi spot Kappo Masa, and Quince in San Francisco.

This new relationship comes almost two years after Mulaney filed for divorce. In a statement at the time, released through her spokesperson, Tendler said, “I am heartbroken that John has decided to end our marriage. I wish him support and success as he continues his recovery.” One week later, news broke that the comedian had started dating actress Olivia Munn and less than two months later it was confirmed that Munn was pregnant with the couple’s first child. The pair welcomed a son in November named Malcolm Hiệp Mulaney amid rumors of their breakup, although judging by Instagram posts since then, the pair appear to still be going strong.

In a lengthy Instagram caption posted at the beginning of last year, Tendler reflected on the “unfathomable” loss we’ve all experienced, as well as the difficult times in her own life, while hoping for a healing year ahead. She wrote that while she’s become accustomed to “the elusiveness of hope” as someone who lives “with depression and anxiety,” at the same time, “melancholia is oft amplified by circumstance and the circumstances of my year have been harsh and punishing. I find myself asking, ‘when will I feel normal?’ but in reality I recognize that the normal from before has expired; ‘normal’ is an impossibility, there is only ‘new.’”

Later that month, in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she also revealed that she was contemplating the possibility of having children for the first time now that her marriage had dissolved. She told the outlet that she “always held partnership above having kids,” but had decided to freeze her eggs. She explained, “There were things I never even thought about before because that was just a closed door. So now that it feels like not as much of a closed door, it’s something that I ruminate on a lot.” She added, “I feel lucky that I get to be standing on the precipice of all of these new things, that I get to possibly experience, and who knows how they will go? And there is certainly something exciting about that.”
