Charlie Cox has a busy 2023 thanks to Marvel’s Disney Plus series Daredevil: Born Again.

While doing the press rounds for his new project, the Netflix series Treason, Charlie Cox told NME that Daredevil: Born Again is set to begin filming in February 2023, with the shoot expected to last for eleven months. The Daredevil revival consists of eighteen episodes and features the long-awaited reunion between Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk.

“I’m fascinated to discover why they’ve chosen to do 18,” Charlie Cox said during his interview with NME. “I’m imagining there’s going to be an element to it that is like the old-school procedural show. Not necessarily case-of-the-week, but something where we go really deep into Matt Murdock, the lawyer, and get to see what his life is like. If that’s done right and he really gets his hands dirty with that world… I think there’s something quite interesting about that.”

When asked about what Daredevil: Born Again could look like under Disney Plus, a more family-friendly platform that Netflix, which produced the first live-action series featuring Matt Murdock, Charlie Cox said that he expects the revival to be dark, but not as gory as its predecessors.

“My opinion is this character works best when he’s geared towards a slightly more mature audience. My instinct is that on Disney Plus it will be dark but it probably won’t be as gory. I would say… we’ve done that. Let’s take the things that really worked, but can we broaden? Can we appeal to a slightly younger audience without losing what we’ve learned about what works,” Cox added.

Little is known of Daredevil: Born Again, with plot details being kept under wraps. Margarita Levieva, Sandrine Holt and Michael Gandolfini are set to appear in the series opposite Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio. Matt Corman and Chris Ord are writing and executive producing for Marvel.

Born Again is rumored to feature the return of Matt Murdock’s best friend and business partner Foggy Nelson, played by Elden Henson. Earlier this year, Deborah Ann Woll also expressed her interest in reprising the role of Karen Page for the Disney Plus series. Karen and Foggy were two of the main characters of the original Daredevil series on Netflix, working alongside Matt.

Daredevil: Born Again is currently scheduled to premiere in Spring 2024 on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
